Round Bottom Woks
The round bottom woks are used as a hot spot at the bottom of the wok where the actual cooking takes place. It is best for flame burners. In round bottom woks a ring is used to keep them stable on the burner and avoid spillage due to disbalance the food while being cooked the sides are meant to rest the food, which helps cooking at slightly low temperatures. It is very convenient to move he food in round bottom wok and helps even cooking throughout enhancing its flavor and retaining its nutrients.
It is used with bamboo steamer for steam cooking. They also go well with the tempura rack and tempura pans to make excellent deep fryers. But before using this wok it is very essential to season it and prolong its life. Round bottom woks still follow the traditional design to have a single long metal or two small metal “ears,” or a wooden handle.
