Different Types of Woks

There are various types of woks available in the market - different shapes, different uses and different sizes. Among the numerous variants of woks, you might be wandering which among them suits your cooking needs.

Types of cooking woks include the Chinese woks, electric woks, stainless type woks, carbon steel woks and nonstick type woks. All of them have different uses when it comes to cooking.

The cooking wok types are those we use for deep-frying, roasting and even for boiling of water. Though known and distinguished from other cooking utensils for its unique shape, usually having a rounded bottom, there are also some types that have flat bottoms, usually sold to the Western countries.

Another change on its appearance is the existence of the nonstick type woks, which are also developed by the Westerners. These are not used in cooking that needs higher amount of heat such as stir frying, so they are mainly used for cooking light foods.
