How to Clean Carbon Steel Wok

Cooking and cleaning Wok is fairly easy but just few things followed can keep you wok new even after regular use. Never use abrasive cleaners to clean the wok as it can damage the seasoned surface. First of all wet the wok with hot water. Now scrub away the food particles with a non metallic scrubber.

Rinse the wok and pat it dry the interior and exterior of the wok with a paper towel and place it over medium to medium high heat. Rub a very small amount of vegetable oil inside the wok. If the wok is put to use frequently and the wok is seasoned, it doesn’t matter even if you skip the process of applying oil.

Never put your wok in a dishwasher to clean. If rust appears on it re-season it and store your wok in a clean dry place.
